HMCM(EXW/FMF/SW/AW) Leah M. Baldwin
Command Master Chief, Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command New England
Master Chief Hospital Corpsman Leah M. Baldwin hails from Bridgewater, Massachusetts. She enlisted in the Navy in September 2001 and attended Recruit Training in Great Lakes, Illinois. After completion of boot camp, she reported to the USS BOXER (LHD-4) in San Diego, California.
In January of 2003, then Seaman Baldwin transferred back to Great Lakes to attend Hospital Corpsman “A” school. Upon completion of “A” school, she attended Advanced Laboratory Technician “C” school and was advanced to Third Class Petty Officer. In February 2005, she transferred to Naval Health Research Center, Dayton, Ohio, but was soon reassigned to Fleet Surgical Team SIX, Little Creek, Virginia. While assigned to FST-SIX, she advanced to Second Class Petty Officer through the Command Advancement Program and earned her Enlisted Surface Warfare and Aviation Warfare qualifications. Hospital Corpsman Second Class reported to Naval Health Clinic New England, Newport, Rhode Island in September 2007, where she served for two years as the Leading Petty Officer for the Hematology Department. In October 2009, she transferred to Surface Warfare Medical Institute, San Diego, California to attend Independent Duty Corpsman “C” school. In November 2010, Hospital Corpsman First Class Baldwin reported to 2nd Medical Battalion, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. While stationed there, she deployed with 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit and II Marine Expeditionary Force, Forward and earned her Fleet Marine Force Warfare qualification. She transferred to USS CONSTITUTION in 2014, where she served as Senior Medical Department Representative and was advanced to Chief Petty Officer and Senior Chief Petty Officer. In June 2018, she transferred to Naval Special Warfare Group FOUR, Little Creek, Virginia, where she served as Senior Enlisted Medical Advisor and earned her Expeditionary Warfare qualification. In July of 2021 she was selected to Master Chief Petty Officer. Master Chief Baldwin transferred to Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command New England in August 2023, where she currently serves as the Command Master Chief.
Master Chief Baldwin is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy and the Joint Special Operations Forces Senior Enlisted Academy. Her personal awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), and various other service and unit awards.
